NSC Green Cross Celebration: Corporate Gala & Awards Dinner Entertainment
CASE STUDY • CORPORATE GALA • AWARDS DINNER • INDIANAPOLIS
Live music by Gentlemen Anti-Temperance League · Dance performance by Denise Coleman’s Current Collective · Entertainment produced and coordinated by Vaudezilla

Vaudezilla coordinated period-inspired live entertainment, rehearsal, travel and onsite execution for the National Safety Council’s Green Cross Celebration at the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.
The assignment was not simply to place performers in the room.
It was to create an entertainment layer that could welcome approximately 500 guests, support a substantial dinner and awards program, work within an established production schedule and add theatrical energy without competing with the people and purpose at the center of the evening.

The Event
The National Safety Council’s Green Cross Celebration brings together leaders and guests for an evening combining reception, dinner, fundraising, recognition and the presentation of the Green Cross for Safety awards.
For an event with that many moving pieces, entertainment has to understand its place in the larger program.
Guests need something to encounter when they arrive.
Conversation needs room to happen.
Leadership and honorees need the room’s attention.
Dinner service needs space.
Transitions need energy.
And the entertainment needs to feel connected to the event rather than dropped into it.
That is the kind of room Vaudezilla is built to work inside.

The Assignment
The Green Cross Celebration already had a substantial formal structure.
Vaudezilla’s role was to develop and coordinate entertainment that could live inside that structure rather than compete with it.
The production included multiple performers, period-inspired characters, guest-facing interaction and featured entertainment moments coordinated around the evening’s larger rhythm.
The challenge was to create enough theatrical presence to make the ballroom feel alive while protecting the awards, fundraising, dinner service and guest experience.
The Entertainment Approach
The historic setting gave the evening a natural visual language.
Vaudezilla developed a cast of period-inspired performers including:
- flapper-style roaming performers
- cigarette-girl characters
- bellhop characters
- guest-facing performers
- featured dance and performance elements
- coordinated wardrobe and visual direction
Rather than treating each performer as a separate act, the cast worked as part of one larger entertainment environment.
Characters could greet guests, create conversation, support photographs and bring movement into the room without demanding attention at the wrong moment.

Entertainment That Knew When To Step Forward
At a formal awards event, more entertainment is not automatically better.
Timing matters.
During reception, performers can help establish atmosphere and give guests something immediate to engage with.
During dinner and awards, the entertainment needs to understand when the room belongs to the program.
Between formal segments, a carefully placed performance or visual moment can reset attention and restore energy.
The goal was not to fill every minute.
It was to make the right moments feel more intentional.
That same principle guides Vaudezilla’s approach to corporate gala entertainment and awards dinner entertainment:
Begin with the room. Then choose the talent, timing and structure.
Rehearsal, Travel & Production Coordination
This was not a local performer drop-off.
Vaudezilla coordinated a traveling cast and the preparation required to bring the entertainment into an established corporate production.
That included:
- casting
- performer communication
- rehearsal
- wardrobe coordination
- travel logistics
- housing logistics
- event-specific briefing
- onsite performer management
- entertainment timing
- coordination within the larger production schedule
The performers arrived knowing not only what they were performing, but how they were expected to function inside the event.
For a large gala, that distinction matters.

One Entertainment Partner Inside A Larger Event Team
Vaudezilla does not need to replace the event planner, venue, audiovisual team or production company.
We can operate specifically as the partner responsible for the live entertainment layer.
For the Green Cross Celebration, that meant managing the details surrounding the talent so the broader event team did not have to individually manage every performer.
One entertainment plan.
One coordinated cast.
One point of responsibility for the performers, rehearsal and live execution.
That is particularly useful for corporate galas, awards dinners and large formal events where the entertainment needs to work within an already complex run of show.
Why The Format Worked
The entertainment served different purposes at different moments.
Arrival
Period-inspired performers immediately helped establish the character of the evening.
Reception
Roaming interaction gave guests something to encounter, photograph and discuss while still allowing conversation to remain central.
Formal Program
The entertainment could recede when awards, speakers, fundraising and dinner required the room’s attention.
Transitions
Performance and character moments could restore energy between more formal portions of the evening.
Overall Atmosphere
Because the entertainment was coordinated as one layer, the performers felt connected to the room rather than appearing as unrelated acts.
A Corporate Audience Requires A Different Kind Of Entertainment
A formal gala audience may include leadership, sponsors, honorees, clients, industry partners and invited guests in the same room.
That changes the creative decisions.
The entertainment needs to be polished.
Interaction needs to feel optional rather than forced.
Performers need to understand timing.
Wardrobe and character choices need to make sense for the organization and environment.
And the entire cast needs to understand that they are supporting a larger event.
That is why Vaudezilla approaches corporate entertainment from the producer’s side of the room rather than beginning with a catalog of acts.
From Individual Performers To A Produced Experience
Some events need one performer.
Others need several artists working intelligently across the evening.
And some require a fully coordinated entertainment production.
Vaudezilla can provide all three.
Featured Entertainment
For one carefully placed performer or guest experience.
Multi-Performer Experiences
For coordinated entertainment across arrival, reception, program or finale.
Creative Entertainment Production
For events requiring creative direction, casting, rehearsal, program integration and onsite execution.
